UNVEILING THE ENEMIES OF OUR WARFARE (III)

Ministering: Pastor Seyi Osanyinbi

Many people grew up with the mentality that everything about this life is structured about our personal battles. In Ephesians 6:12, we see that the word ‘wrestling’ connotes hand to hand combat. Unfortunately, most of the time we are unaware what we are engaged in a wrestling fight. In verse 11, Paul talked about the ‘wiles’ of the devil which means to follow a person by using methodological approach and with a settled plan, using tricks and craftiness. We need to realise that satan does not fight fairly, because he can fight using anything but we are constrained as we cannot use his methods but the weapon of righteousness which is from God. 1 Timothy 6:12 – It is clear that eternal life is not a gift you just take, it entails warfare. Though Jesus had overcome the enemy, we still need to fight because there is a pending unresolved matter (Hebrews 1:13). Jesus is the head of the church, and we are his body. The way God will make Christ’s enemy His footstool is by using the church.

Do not forget that God is working with a plan (Jeremiah 9:11) and so is the satan (John 10:10). He is working tirelessly and has faith in himself that he will succeed. He is an enemy that does not believer in defeat. Remember he has deceit and trickery to work with but Jesus has promised us victory. Therefore, the purpose of this teaching is not to scare you but to give knowledge and prepare you. The matter of warfare is not mentioned anymore in many churches because we are not on the front line. We need to understand that there are demons in suits and witches flying in jets. Accepting this fact will help us see that we are in warfare at all times.

Ephesians 2:6

We are seated above with Christ. The matter is finished but there are things we must do. You are your first battleground. You cannot go and take nations when you are a captive yourself. Other areas where the devil opens up attack at us include as a family, a church and as a community or nation. We belong to a society that is lawless because there is a demonic oppression afflicting our mind and informing our actions. Spiritual warfare is not the same as prayers. Prayer has its functions and warfare has its technicalities.

Job 14:1, Psalm 73:1-23

There is the possibility of a person to assume that his life is characterized by problems all through and judge that others do not have problems at all but the truth is that everyone born of Adam has problems. Satan fights us individually on the basis of lust (James 1:12-19; Galatians 5:17). The first problem every human being all over the world has to face is lust. It can render you incapable of being used in the hand of the Lord. Romans 8:5 – Unrighteous desires that plague our hearts are issues from the satanic realm, sponsoring, tempting and tricking us to take and bite of the forbidden fruit. Therefore, you need God to sanctify your desires.

When Satan observes you are getting on a wrong platform, he encourages you to keep going in that direction. When you conceive an idea, as far as heaven is concerned, you have logged in and one day you will execute it. Thoughts enter our mind every day but it is left for you to not brood on your evil thoughts. Anybody forcing you to push your agenda above God’s agenda is an anti-christ. Demons are real and they war against us in the realms of our thoughts. Therefore, every time you take communion you tell creation you have made commitment to God.

From the time Adam sinned, curse was introduced into the world. Ephesians 2:1-3, 1 Corinthians 12:2 – Our blood line has been corrupted by sin and demons. A generational curse is a curse of the blood line. Deuteronomy 7:26 – Curses can also be acquired by crafts. Therefore, watch what you bring into house. Deuteronomy 27: 15-26 – These are things that open people up to curses. Deuteronomy 21:23– When Jesus died, he was hung on the tree and made curse for us. Galatians 3:13-14 – The blessing of Abraham came to the Gentiles through Jesus. He has paid the price. Deuteronomy 23:2-7 – There are some people who have to deal with ancestral curses in their lives before they can be healed and saved.
