Romans 8:10, 11
The acceptance of the testimony that Jesus died and rose from the dead is required for salvation. As we journey towards God, there is a need to grow to acquire the Spirit of resurrection.
Every activity of God is to annihilate death; since death comes through sin, God gave us His Spirit to help deal with sin. The Spirit is holy; if He dwells in us, He will cause us to be holy too. The Spirit shuts down the power of sin in us (Romans 8:5). We must find a way to capture, retain and allow Him dwell in us so that He can quicken our mortal bodies.
Luke 24:49
The baptism of the Holy Ghost is a baptism of power. If you are a child of God and you have not been baptized with power, you are cheating yourself and the body of Christ. When you are baptized in the Holy Ghost, you are expected to be a different person.
Colossians 3:1-2
As believers, we know that we were baptized in Christ’s death and raised in His resurrection. We are thus expected to start renewing our minds and seeking those things that are above. God has not promised us half of His kingdom, He promised us Himself. He said to Abraham that He was his exceeding and great reward.
One of the assignments of the Holy Spirit is to take the things of God and administer them to us. The things He gives to us are the exact things that make God who He is. As we absorb these materials of God, we manifest His nature.
Another thing the Holy Ghost does in His manifestations is the forgiveness of sins. We can stand as priests and pronounce forgiveness (Mark 2:10). The main solution to some people’s sickness is not necessarily physical healing but the forgiveness of sins.
Casting out of devils, healing the sick and speaking words of encouragement to people are means by which the resurrection power is released. These dimensions of power require some sacrifice; it will cost us our convenience. In fact, we need to have attitudes that are consistent with the ways of God to achieve this.
No one amounts to anything without the help of spirits. So, it is indeed a great privilege that we have the Holy Ghost living on our inside. Though we carry the power of resurrection, it is pathetic that we have not been audacious, courageous, bold and daring enough to unleash the power.
As we partake in the Communion from time to time, we must always discern the body by paying attention to our brethren. We should look after the welfare of others. This way we set the resurrection power in motion among us.
