The name of Jesus is not just about the mere name, it is about the authority and power that accompanies the name.

Don’t be deceived to think that there will not be oppositions to the assignments God has committed to you. There are bound to be attacks on the duty God has put in your care. Every thing God wants you to do has an eternal relevance, don’t go thinking some things are just there for fun. As such, take no instruction of God with levity. For instance, you can take marriage for granted thinking it is just normal. However, your marriage can either help you or prevent you from fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.
Many a time, oppositions start with people scorning and mocking us. They usually seem to have good reasons why we cannot do the assignment we claim God has sent us to do. People can mock us because of our education, family background, etc. However, God cannot be boxed in a corner; His ways are new every morning. His operations may not follow a particular pattern.
We must not be distracted from our assignments because people are talking down on us. We must remember it only takes God to fulfill the assignment He has committed unto our care. No matter how enormous the assignment is, we must not be restricted in our thinking because God is vast and inexhaustible.
Some people never begin to build because of the mockery that comes their ways. Remember, all those mockeries are meant to serve as energy propelling you to move on above the discouragement of the enemies. When the enemies’ mockeries cannot get to us, they can advance to anger and even make attempt on our lives to silence us. As believers, we must never take the place of mourners and scorners that talk down on other people’s callings just because we have one or two issues with them.

Sanballat, Tobiah and their fellow mockers mocked Nehemiah and his work. They became wroth, then very wroth and then they went ahead to conspire to fight him and hinder the work in Jerusalem. When battles become fierce against us, we must know that a breakthrough is around the corner. Stopping half way in our calling cannot fulfill the purpose of God, we must go the whole course to be fulfilled.
We need peace to build and that is why we must keep our cool in the midst of attacks trusting God all the way. King David fought several wars and he could not build a temple for God. However, he prepared the ground for Solomon who finally built the temple. Solomon had peace all around. In fact, his name means ‘peace’.
God is not coming for a partially completed work; He is coming for a perfect Church. We must never be stopped in our tracks by the onslaught of the enemies. There is a strength God gives that enables us to stand strong till the very end. God’s strength is always available to make us withstand every opposition and finish stronger than anyone can ever imagine.
