THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD (DAY II)

MORNING SESSION I

PASTOR OLUWASEYI OSANYINBI

The New Testament is different from the Old. The Old Testament became old because God declared it so. Nothing was wrong with the Old Testament but the problem was that people could not keep the Law. The Ten Commandments still remain today and we are not permitted to break any of them. God instituted the Levitical Priesthood in order to deal with the issue of sin because the wages of sin is death. In the Ark of the Testament were found the Tablet of Stone on which was written the Ten Commandments. That tablet made the Ark a supernatural object capable of judging people. However, the design was such that mercy prevailed over judgment. God abandoned the Old Testament where His commandments were written on stones for the New Testament in which the commandments will be written on the hearts of men. If the commandments could make the Ark supernatural what can we expect if God’s Laws are written on our very hearts? We will sure be too hot for the Devil to handle. All the activities of God center on just one purpose, one mark. There are no two marks. It is His High Calling in Christ Jesus. The testament was not given unto us so that we can just live mediocre lives. However, we are not called to be known. We have been called to pursue the High Calling and if other things come alongside the pursuit, no problems. The High Calling is not just for the Ministers of the Gospel, it is for all believers. So, there is no hiding place for us believers. As a body, we are still babes because of the acceptance of false doctrines. Falsehood leads to rebellion. What you hear is responsible for the way you walk and act. When you hear wrongly, you will walk and act wrongly. The New Testament is not designed to just get us born again, remain in church and do religion. We are required to become like Christ ultimately as His words dwell in us richly. We are carnal because we have not yet outgrown milk. You need not be a Minister of the Gospel before you strive for the High Calling. Our strength is walking in the Fruits of the Spirit. It is not a weakness. We must understand that there is a life different from the one the world projects to us. The life of God is abundant life and it has nothing to do with having the bounty of this world. We seek first the kingdom and other things follow. Don’t lose focus of what the Holy Spirit is doing. He is leading us into the place of righteousness.

HEBREWS 6:1:

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,”;

EPHESIANS 4:11-13; ROMANS 8:12-16

The High Calling is a call to perfection and we cannot afford to be static at any point in time. Christianity is a movement thing. In our walk with God, if we don’t move when God moves, we open up ourselves to the infestation of demons. The elementary doctrines of Christ are necessary so we should get grounded in them and move on to higher things. The High Calling of God is the attainment of the full nature of the Christ. The Holy Spirit is leading sons. He is leading us into the High Calling. He is leading us to the place of perfection where we are exactly like Christ. We often run the risk of seeing the Holy Spirit as a servant rather than a leader. He is a teacher who leads us unto the attainment of the High Calling.
