Pastor Gbenga Shafe
- There are certain things in the Spirit we cannot access until we have a certain level of hunger. It does not matter how desperate we cry for it, God will not answer our prayer beyond the capacity of our hunger. You begin to think that God loves some people more than others but here is the secret, God’s answers everyone based on the extent to which they are hungry for Him.
- You must learn how to use your words because your tongue has been prepared as the pen of a ready writer, with it we can write, erase and rewrite situations.
- You are not expected to negotiate with the Devil. You can appeal to God for mercy, but when facing the devil, you are to be bold because in the day of battle, you are supposed to have been prepared.
- God is not just interested in our spiritual lives; He is also interested in sorting us out materially. He wants to help us, help our families and even help with academics but what makes tremendous power available is the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man. The righteous man is the man that takes a position where God is standing.
- There is a righteousness that comes by faith, and there’s another that comes by standing where God is standing. So, the first thing to do is to find out where God is standing concerning a matter. Once you can determine where God is standing, you can begin to legislate, insisting based on what you know to be the will of God. The first prayer is not about the problem; the first prayer is to know what God is saying. That is why often times we pray and we don’t seem to get results.
Daniel 10: 10 – 21
- There are certain things the Lord will say to you that will require you to be in a particular posture spiritually before you can receive them. The angel first had to address Daniel’s posture. Sometimes, people get too focused on the problem they have that they don’t realize that they are already giving in to the stress and pressure that it brings. Sometimes we worry for God forgetting that our worries do not benefit Him.
- In the spirit realm, there is a ruling prince over every nation. This ruling prince can either be a messenger of God or of Satan. Whichever prince we allow is by the choice we make. When the administration is shrouded in deception, the satanic prince rules and dictates the affairs of the nation. Satan still has access to God’s presence not as Lucifer but as one seating in the seat of Adam just like when he showed up to accuse Job.
- The intercessor is the representative of God in the earth that agrees with what heaven is saying and as long as there is a man to pray, there will be a GOD to answer.
- The purpose of prayer is not many of the things we have been taught or know. We have commonised the topic of prayer and it is because of religion.
- As we journey with God in our walk and He begins to reveal certain things to us, it is advisable not to hear in the flesh, because we need to keep a posture of prayer for our spirits to process the instructions from God properly.
- There are also certain dimensions that the Lord will open to us that He will need to reassure us. Nothing cuts the flow to spiritual access than fear.
- It is the Rhema word of God that impacts strength. It is not enough to read scriptures; our spirit is been fed in the place of meditation.
- The weight of our depth and strength in the spirit is not actually in manifestations but in our grasp on faith. It is our ability to use faith without feelings or emotions.
Psalm 142:2
- When we come before the Lord to lift up our hands, we must know what that represents so we don’t do it in the flesh. The problem is that we have stayed in church and have mastered these processes that we don’t experience any power in it.
- In the spirit realm, there is no time factor but in the earth, the time has been counted and it took Daniel 21 days to pray through. The angel was drawing his own ‘staying power’ from the intercession of a man on the earth, Daniel, for that period of 21 days.
- It is true you ought to pray in faith, believing you have received but sometimes you just have to keep praying till God says it is done. Until we get a victory note in our spirit, we cannot stop praying. Imagine if Daniel had stopped praying before the 21st day, the angel could hold forth because Daniel kept praying until he was able to deliver the message without allowing any interference from the prince of Persia.
- We must learn to build capacity in prayer and capacity is built on the knees. There were 70 people that were anointed by Moses to stand in the same weight as Moses but they didn’t have the capacity to stay. If there is an anointing upon you, it will only flow to the degree of your capacity. You cannot operate beyond your capacity.
- We must be able to know the voice of God in our spirit no matter how deep the crisis is. There are people that get mesmerized and are not able to hear God when they are going through challenges. The capacity to hear God in the time of trouble is developed in the time of peace.
- Nobody operates in the power ministry that doesn’t know how to pray and fast. There is a realm that opens up to us when we spend time praying. This is why the devil tries to fight our capacity to pray, by giving us legitimate concerns that will keep us busy.
- Prayer brings joy. This is the joy that comes from being confident that when we start praying, we will receive answers. We are to pray so that our joy may be full but we must have the tenacity to tarry.
- In the trial of joy, the devil preserved a messenger, Job’s wife to constantly present to him the need to curse God. The job was sustained through those times because he has built capacity before the trials began. God, as well as the devil, preserves his messenger. However, in the devil’s camp, his messenger has no choice but to move forward. Although you are not forced in God’s camp, you should be resolute on the progress of the kingdom too.
- We need to identify what was the real reason why Lucifer was after job. Asides the fear of Job which was a legal ground, here are some other reasons which also applies to us today:
- The devil is afraid of any believer that has increased because he knows that with money in the hand of a believer, great things will be done in righteousness.
- The devil is also afraid of a man with integrity, which job had. The devil wanted to fight the integrity of Job before God, he aimed at oppressing him till he says he does not want to serve God anymore but Job kept his integrity.
- In the journey of destiny, just like the case with Peter, what you may hear God say is “Come”. He might not say many words but He will give you the instruction to come. You must allow God’s stand on its own merit.
- Many times we are affected by putting too much attention on the warfare, forgetting that we are standing with a great God who spoke to the wind and it became calm.
- God does not believe in abandoned projects, God comes back to check on every investment of heaven and that should give you rest and hope that if he has brought you this far, the one who you believe in will sought things out. Your faith will either work for you or you sink.
- The painful thing about falling is not that we fell, but that we fell for little things. The devil is coming to match your money for money, but can you match his consecration for money?
- The devil tries his possible best that you do not come to understand who you are because he knows when you come to understand the capacity in which you stand, you cannot be enslaved by him anymore. Some of the things you’re praying away in faith are meant to be for your building.
- The bedrock of your response in the New Testament is faith; it is the emotion of the Spirit realm, the only emotion that God recognises. The posture of Jesus as an intercessor is on His knees.
