There are different schools of thought on the second coming of Christ: Pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation and post-tribulation. One sure thing is that the church is going to see Jesus when He returns whether it takes place before, during or after the tribulation.
Just like the days of Noah, the coming of Jesus would come and men would be unprepared. According to the account in Matthew 24:36-40, there may not be many signs. Nothing catastrophic may occur and this can cause men to be careless until it is too late as it was in the days of Noah, when the ark was shut.
Luke 21:24– The antichrist is not going to come in a manner that people expect. He is going to come in disguise, promising liberation. Hence, scriptures warn us to be watchful for, in the perilous time, there will be pressure to cast away our confidence (2 Timothy 3:1ff).
Events and happenings around will be so numerous that we may be forced to put away what we believe. The events are going to play out as symbolized in Matthew 25:1-5. The ten virgins are like believers today, unfortunately, five of them did not go with the groom because they were not committed.
We must be ready at any time and any day because Satan is so cunning that he can make things creep in on us. It is high time we did not allow material things to define us. It is high time we became vigilant. It is not for us to worry about what event comes first or last but that we become serious and prepared for Christ’s second coming.
