The Reality of the Kingdom of Christ on Earth

Considering the book of Daniel, chapter nine, we might be tempted to begin to look at it from a literal meaning and the chronological point of view because dates were documented in the verses. It is also important to note that some certain prophecies in the book do not have a one-off interpretation, they have age long manifestations.  This chapter of the book of Daniel is a messianic prophecy, describing the story of redemption. This redemption is not restricted to Israel alone, it was for the whole world. The captivity of the children of Israel was just a timeline typology to us.

The temple of Jerusalem was built because of the Messiah. After the work of the Messiah, there came another desolation in the land of Israel and the temple was destroyed. This was after the Messiah was cut off,  the crucifixion of Jesus. Afterwards, the Lord confirmed the new covenant with Israel and bring to an end the old covenant, causing sacrifice, oblations and rituals to cease.

A stone was cut out of a mountain without hands is the church without human input (it was divine [biblegateway passage=”Ephesians 2:8″ display=”Ephesians 2:8″]). This stone brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver and the gold. The scripture tells us that the interpretation of this scripture is sure and will definitely come to pass. This implies The victory of the Church irrespective of her current strength. The church has recorded victory before her coming up on the scene.

The glory and the power of the kingdom of Rome were incomparable to any other Kingdom of the earth at a point in time. And this was the time when Jesus, the son of a carpenter came to establish the Church that should be a battle axe to prosecute the kingdom and establish it. On the part of Israel, she was expecting a Messiah that would deliver them from the political oppression of Rome ([biblegateway passage=”Acts 1:6″ display=”Acts 1:6″]).  However, Jesus kingdom is a universal kingdom contrary to the expectation of Israel.

[biblegateway passage=”Jeremiah 51:20″ display=”Jeremiah 51:20″]; [biblegateway passage=”2 Corinthians 10:3-5″ display=”2 Corinthians 10:3-5″];

The church is the battle axe of God and with it, he would break in pieces the kingdom of the earth. Therefore, Jesus gave two gifts as weapons of war. The ascension gifts were the ministry gifts and it is not enough on its own. But, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the church generally is the way to effectively enforce the Kingdom of God.  The first-century church made effective use of this gift and enforced the Kingdom of God, displacing the other kingdoms. For example, Paul dethroned Diana in the city of Ephesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.  It was purely apostolic work.  The Church in Antioch became thick because of certain prophets and the apostles in their midst. These two gifts are so critical for the kingdom.

[biblegateway passage=”1 Corinthians 12:28″ display=”1 Corinthians 12:28″]

Apostles will yet be raised in the church once again. Apostles and Prophets are the major prominent gifts in the First Century Church.  The Church has recognition for five-fold ministry gifts. Christ did not only give us the five fold ministry, but he also gave us six-fold, which is membership ministry.  In other words, all members of the Church are involved in the work of the kingdom.

[biblegateway passage=”Judges 5:15: ” display=”Judges 5:15:”]

Deborah was a type of church and timeline for the Church.  In the day of Deborah, Israel was too weak to confront her enemies.  However, the angelic host was visible in that battle.  The immortal church would be participating by helping the mortal church to prosecute the battle of the end time. Presently, there are a lot of divisions in the church and this has so far delayed the birth of what the Lord wants to go through the church. From the songs of Deborah, it was recorded that Gilead, which typifies Healing, took abode in Jordan and ought to move forward beyond Jordan. Also, Dan was recorded to have remained in ships, transacting business and enterprise.  This is the state of Church as at today.  Zebulun and Naphtali, a people that jeopardized their lives unto the death in the high places of the field. These are the remnants in the Church, who are not after gains but take the message of the kingdom as a priority. The times of Deborah is being rehearsed to the present church.

[biblegateway passage=”Galatians 4:4-5″ display=”Galatians 4:4-5″]; [biblegateway passage=”Ephesians 1:9-10″ display=”Ephesians 1:9-10″]; [biblegateway passage=”Romans 9: 27-28″ display=”Romans 9: 27-28″];

Presently, the church looks like a weakling, but it is as strong as her husband.  When the fullness of time comes, the Lord is going to do a quick work that the church will change into what the Lord intends it to be.
