The wickedness of man that was demonstrated in the garden of Eden is still very much around today. The heart of man is desperately wicked. Even for believers, evils thoughts still come into our hearts, but God has given us enough energy not to act on them and pull them out. The basic problem of man is sin but Jesus had come to earth to address that problem.

A sinful man cannot know or experience the peace of God. God is the one who gives peace and that was why He set a standard by which He can reconcile man to Himself. We cannot approach God in our own terms, it has to be on His terms.

[biblegateway passage=”ROMANS 8:3″ display=”ROMANS 8:3″];[biblegateway passage=” JAMES 1:13,21″ display=” JAMES 1:13,21″]; [biblegateway passage=”HEBREWS 10″ display=”HEBREWS 10″]; [biblegateway passage=”2 PETER 1:3″ display=”2 PETER 1:3″]

The ministry of the Priesthood was designed by God to to solve the problem of death which is a consequence of sin. The law had a shadow of good things to come, it was not the real deal. As great as it was that the three Hebrews went through fire unscathed and Daniel returned from the lion’s den unharmed, the law under which they operated was merely a custodian of the realities to come.

The law was ineffective on them all because of their flesh. The flesh is not the normal human flesh, it is something more serious than that. The flesh is the fallen Adamic nature that generates sinful thoughts and ways. When Adam fell, ‘his eyes opened’ meaning his conscience was activated and steered in the wrong direction. His conscience therefore became encumbered with sin. The remedy God provided for sin is the blood of Jesus that is able to purge our conscience.

The job of the Melchizedek priesthood is to deal a decisive blow to the flesh by purging the human nature completely. The conscience of the fallen man is a sin generator by configuration. Satan cannot tempt a man whose conscience has been purged. Such a man is not capable of being tempted because there is nothing Satan can manipulate in him. The Priesthood of Jesus is designed to stabilize us that we cannot be shaken by the Devil.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 4″ display=”Hebrews 4″] tells us to come boldly to the throne of Grace. [biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 10″ display=”Hebrews 10″] also tells us that we can only enter into the throne room by the Blood of Jesus. Jesus is the Lamb whose blood was shed and the High Priest who is our advocate. We cannot enter with boldness without clean hands and pure hearts. We cannot enter the Holiest Place without having had our hearts purged by the blood.

The more the light of God we have, the more we are purged by the blood. Truth itself is the application of blood for cleansing. The purging process is a continuous one, some purging are instantaneous and some require us to go through difficult situations over time.

The en-grafted word exposes our true conditions to us and then we go to the High Priest for cleansing. The cycle continues until complete purging is achieved. The conscience of a man can be configured by our environment and knowledge base. As such, we need the knowledge of the Holy One in order to have a perfectly purged conscience.

The fall of man was as a result of the quest for the knowledge of good and evil. However, God promises to write His laws in our heart such that we have no need to be taught what is good because we will just know by virtue of the divine inscriptions upon our hearts. The knowledge of God is key if we must have pure consciences.

The conclusion about the heroes of faith in [biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 11″ display=”Hebrews 11″] is that they cannot be made perfect without us. Perfection is the coming of age of the sons of God. Our primary assignment is to becomes sons of God like Jesus Christ. When that is done, creation will automatically align to the will of God.

When men’s allegiance change from exalting the Devil, he will naturally lose his place. The enemies of God will be made His footstool when we give our unadulterated allegiance to God and Him alone.

The word of God cannot profit us if it is not mixed with faith in our hearts. Perfection will elude us if we don’t even believe that it is possible. We need to make the most of the provision of the Melchizedek priesthood that has been made available to us so that we can become perfect.

The end of perfection is being with God and we need to constantly trust Him for help to get there. We need a conscious effort to actively believe God for that which He has promised.
