God is interested in feasts. There are several feasts in the Old Testament and they have significance in our lives under the new order. We are in a time of feasts and God wants us to be dutiful enough to offer sacrifices unto Him even in this very present dark world. God has gone to a great extent to purchase freedom for us by making His only begotten Son die in our stead. We need to leave our servitude and get into a place of feasting. A place of boundless celebrations.
King Ahasuerus had a seemingly endless feast in Shushan. At some point when he was drunk with wine, he wanted to show off his wife Queen Vashti but the woman was so full of herself that she lost her place in the then world power, Persia and Media. Unfortunately, many of us are like Vashti today. The Lord is always calling us but we often do not mind Him; we keep minding our own things. We have to be prompt in answering God’s call so that we will not regret.

God does not just reveal Himself to anybody; He only gives Himself to His chosen people. When we choose to answer God’s call, we are setting ourselves up for greatness as we will be privy to His mind and that will distinguish us among the nations. We cannot afford to hide from God because it is to our advantage if we yield ourselves to Him willingly. If we do not answer His call today, we will meet Him as a judge tomorrow.
God is the God of gods and a Lord of kings; He is a revealer of secrets. He reveals deep and secret things to His people. He knows that which is in darkness and the light dwells with Him. The revealed secrets of God to us make us relevant to His will and we will not be separated from Him. We do not own ourselves; He is our Sovereign Owner.

It is a great honour to God if we answer His call. It is dishonourable to ignore God when He calls on us. We honour God by submitting ourselves to those who administer the word of God to us so that we can be in right standing with God. Many things can take us from the presence of God and we have to deal with them decisively. We need to keep coming to the Lord in order to know Him. We need to honour the Lord and the people that bring the word of the Lord to us. We need to honour them because they are going to give account over us before God.
God wants to show us off to the world. In fact, the whole of creation is waiting for our manifestation as sons of God. We cannot afford to disappoint God like Vashti dishonoured the King. Just as Vashti was replaced, we can be replaced. It is to our advantage to answer God’s call. We have been called to a place of proper feasting on God so much so that we get drunk with the Holy Spirit and we manifest unusual dimensions of God. The king was grieved when he was not honoured by his queen; that is how the Lord feels when we do not honour Him.
