PASTOR OLUWASEYI OSANYINBI
In governmental prayers we must be able to establish who the Lord is. However, the Lord’s prayer started with establishing the Lordship of God. In the place of prayer we must have knowledge of the prophetic promises od God.
There was a threat against the disciples after Peter and John healed the Leper at the gate, for them not to speak about Jesus any longer. We don’t know how long it was, but the bible recorded that they prayed in order to receive boldness to speak and they did receive boldness. We need to come to a point where we are bothered about God’s burden and we are touched by God’s concerns.
For years, our generation have been hearing and perceiving the closeness of a Spiritual Revival on the earth, but we have not experienced this yet.
“ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”
Isaiah 60:1
The arising and shining of the light and glory of the Lord was partly fulfilled on the day of Pentecost. Although they were said to have walked with Jesus, but their boldness was primarily a function of the Holy Spirit. They were no longer afraid to challenge and oppose darkness. There is a kind of fear that the enemy has worked in everyone and this stops us from entering the fulfillments of God’s promises for our lives.
Prayer
+ Deliver us from the fear the enemy has worked inside of us.
“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”
Isaiah 60:2
This darkness cannot be prayed away, in fact, it is already happening. But despite of this, God’s promise to us is that His Glory would be seen upon us. We need to ask for its fulfillment.
We need Spiritual leaders like Nehemiah who have wisdom for spiritual wise building, who are not greedy for gain and who are touched with the feelings and concerns of God.
“And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.”
Isaiah 60:3
We are the fulfillment of God’s promise as we are the Gentiles that has come into God’s light.
“Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.”
Isaiah 60:21
Before the Lord can be glorified, we as God’s people need to come into His righteousness.
“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”
Isaiah 60:22
Prayer
+ We should pray that God should hasten these promises for it to happen in our time
There is also a great need for watchers who can blow trumpets to warn people against war and also gather people for war. Men who can stand at the gates and contend against the enemy.
Prayer
+ God should raise us as watchers who would know the mind of God for the Church.
1. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Isaiah 61:1-3
Jesus stopped at proclaiming the acceptable year of the LORD. The Church needs to progress this mandate of becoming trees of righteousness. This is because God wants to replant a garden. The beauty of Eden is what the Lord plans for us, but the Church needs to work.
God is telling us that He cannot rest until we all come into rest. It is a warfare thing, the devil doesn’t want us to come into righteousness.
Prayer
+ The Devil would not stop the fulfillment of our destiny to enter God’s rest and come into His righteousness.
There is a good fight of faith we must fight so that our righteousness can exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees.
