It is necessary to remind ourselves of certain issues that are of great importance to God, one of which is the issue of faithfulness.
[biblegateway passage=”Proverbs 20: 6″ display=”Proverbs 20: 6″]
There has always been a crisis of lack of faithful men since time immemorial for King Solomon to have penned down such statement. To be faithful means to be trustworthy and dependable. The issue of unfaithfulness is one of the major issues in our country; the lack of faithful men has led to the destruction of great enterprises and great nations. We have people in authority who are not trustworthy and are undependable. When there is no faithful person to hand over to, everything crumbles.
[biblegateway passage=”Psalm 12:1–3″ display=”Psalm 12:1–3″]
Been born again doesn’t automatically turn you into a faithful person. We shouldn’t just assume that anyone who is saved is a faithful man. The process of becoming a faithful man is something we need to constantly go to God to help us with. God could boast of Job because He was sure of the faithful person that Job had grown to become.
[biblegateway passage=”2 Kings 12: 15″ display=”2 Kings 12: 15″]; [biblegateway passage=”2 Kings 22: 7″ display=”2 Kings 22: 7″]; [biblegateway passage=”Jeremiah 23: 5″ display=”Jeremiah 23: 5″]
We need to ask ourselves, are we truly faithful? Every man will give an account of his/her stewardship, especially how well we have used every resource that is entrusted into our care. We will give an account of our time and our money. We will give an account of how we have handled other people’s things too. We can’t be taking people’s things or using them anyhow because we are going to give an account of it.
[biblegateway passage=”Proverbs 14:5″ display=”Proverbs 14:5″]
A faithful man will never lie no matter the circumstance that surrounds him. It’s sad to know that people tell lies to inspire faith in other people. Whether it is for a good reason or not, telling a lie is not accepted if one is to be considered a faithful witness unto God.
[biblegateway passage=”Colossians 4: 7″ display=”Colossians 4: 7″]
God wants us to be faithful with whatever that is committed into our hands because He will never entrust us with His divine nature if He doesn’t see faithfulness in us. There are certain mysteries of the Lord that will not be revealed to you if you are not a faithful man.
We must judge ourselves and see if we are still in the faith. What is the faith? The faith is a collection of instructions from God that requires us to be faithful. How have we been faithful with the time on our hands? How faithful are we in our marriages, our families, workplaces and with every of our dealings?
Can God even entrust us with the children that He will bless us with? What about our response to money? What is our attitude like when we are given access to wealth? Are we going to lose our faith, or are we going to keep faith?
God is looking for men and women who can be trusted and are faithful, are we going to be one?
