The Father Knows What You Need

PASTOR DELE OLUBI

It needs to dawn on us that we are a product of prophecies. Even before Christ came, a lot of prophecies had come forth about His coming. Solomon’s writings tell us that time and chance happens to all men, but we no longer live by the law of time and chance. We ought not to run our lives the same way a natural man does. In Bible times, the people of Israel displayed so much confidence in the prophecies and instruction the Lord gave them.

[biblegateway passage=”Genesis 17:17-20; 16:11-14; 21:8-19″ display=”Genesis 17:17-20; 16:11-14; 21:8-19″]

Ishmael was not a son of the covenant, but God was very deliberate about his life. With all the wealth Abraham had, all He gave Hagar and Ishmael when he sent them out was a bottle of water and bread. Knowing the harsh conditions of a desert, this would have seemed like a very wicked decision. This same Abraham sent the children of his concubines away with gifts. Why was it different with Ishmael? It appears Abraham knew the future of the child. After the supply Abraham gave Hagar and the child, God intervened in the Desert.

There is no doubt that God our Father sometimes does the same to us. Even the abundance He has, He still chooses to send us forth with what seems minute (common and seemingly unimportant). God does not always have people start things big.

Another example is Joseph. Joseph had the gift of telling dreams and their meanings. His brothers were envious of the fact that he had such dreams, although it seemed unimportant when they started.

Sometimes God places in our hands certain things that seem so little when we are just starting out. We should be careful to take note of such elements handed to us by God and know what to do with them.

God wants to send us forth, set us up and place some things in our hands. This is wh we must know the seasons of our life.

There are other times when we might have so much but God will choose to constrain us. This happened with Gideon in the above text.

Apostle Paul first confronted a sorcerer before other things were committed into his hands. Many people view working miracles and other signs as basics compared to handling revelations, but we must understand that we cannot skip processes with God.

How do you handle what God has placed in your hands? You cannot carry the Holy Ghost and trivialize what God has given you. God gives gifts according to how he wants to administer them.

There are certain things we have now that took Jesus to die on the cross for us to have access to them. One of them is the ability to pray in tongues. We can’t keep holding on to certain bad habits with the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
