DIORTHOSIS CONVENTION (DAY 4) EVENING SESSION PART 2

Reverend Kayode Oyegoke
Making of the High Priest

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 9:11-15″ display=”Hebrews 9:11-15″]

The book of Hebrews contains a vivid picture of what priesthood is. If the blood of Jesus was not sprinkled on us, we would not be able to serve Him. To serve Him, we must be trained to serve Him well and acceptably.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 12:28-29″ display=”Hebrews 12:28-29″]

We must obey order. There is no service without sacrifice; neither can we serve Him without having grace or fear. We cannot serve God acceptably without fear- godly fear. This kingdom described in our text cannot be received without service. Princes are potential kings. A full-grown prince is a king. The scriptures must be resolved as one man. We must never take one scripture out of context, but rather interpret it as a whole. It is possible to (potentially) have the kingdom and not use it. The sense in which dominion being preached is coming from a carnal mind. The issue of dominion can only be clearly and properly understood by revelation from God. Only the owner of a thing can explain what it really means.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 12:22-29″ display=”Hebrews 12:22-29″]

Paul was admonishing the Hebrew Christians. We must also put ourselves in this scripture. The blood of bull and goats which shook the earth was imperfect, so the blood of Jesus had to be shed which would shake both the heavens and the earth. The kingdom is our God, and the duty of the High Priest is to make you ‘get’ our God.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 5:1-2, 7:20-22, 25″ display=”Hebrews 5:1-2, 7:20-22, 25″]

Our coming to God is gradual, even though we are children of God. This was why the blood was provided for the purging of the conscience. The Hebrew Church being referred to here was not an ordinary Church, yet even after they had gotten to this level, they wanted to draw back.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 10:35-36″ display=”Hebrews 10:35-36″]

What is The Promise? This should humble Christians. The Promise is God (John17:3). God promised to give us Himself. The reason for Jesus’ ordination as a Priest is to bring us to this Promise. Not every child of God is willing to come to this promise, even though knowing God is the Highest you can ever attain. This is why Paul said he counted everything as dung. There is the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and there is also something called the excellent knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 7:1-5″ display=”Hebrews 7:1-5″], [biblegateway passage=”Psalm 16:11″ display=”Psalm 16:11″]

You cannot know God without being a priest. This is why Melchizedek was called the priest of the Most High God. And this is the order: he was first called the “king of righteousness”, and then “king of Salem”, meaning “king of Peace”. In John 1:4, the apostle was talking about Presence.

[biblegateway passage=”Philippians 3:10″ display=”Philippians 3:10″]

When you don’t know how to lose your life, you won’t have the capacity to know God. This is why Paul kept crying to “that I might know Him” so he could attain the high call of God in Christ Jesus.
If mercy has not been granted, you can’t come. And you cannot come, if you have not been called. Opportunity is given to everyone to draw near. What happened between Moses and those who were agitating against him, shows us that God doesn’t joke with His Presence.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 10:19-24″ display=”Hebrews 10:19-24″]

We are all His children, but not all of us are in His Presence yet. To be in His Presence means to pierce His flesh. The call to come into His Presence is not a ritual of prayer, it is a calling to abide in the Holiest of all. Through the blood, you must draw near with a true heart. Our bodies must be washed and our conscience must be sprinkled. Washing of water (by the Word) is what the Church had done and it was time for them to go further. This sprinkling of the blood would grant them entrance into the Most Holy place.

[biblegateway passage=”1 Peter 1:2″ display=”1 Peter 1:2″]

The reason we are born again is to obey. You don’t get born again by obeying God, you got born again by believing. It was the new birth that qualifies you to obey God. We can be under the New Testament and not know the New Testament. In the priestly mouth is the knowledge of God.

[biblegateway passage=”Malachi 2:6-7″ display=”Malachi 2:6-7″], [biblegateway passage=”Romans 8:1-17″ display=”Romans 8:1-17″]

If you are not mindful of spiritual things, you won’t have life and peace. It is possible to have life yet not live. This means that you have life in your spirit, but still walk in the flesh. Paul tells us that such people will die. Without the Holy Ghost, we will not live successful Christian lives. The ministry of the Holy Ghost is beyond miracles and speaking in tongues. The fear described is the fear not to lose your life (Romans 8:17).

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 1:1-3″ display=”Hebrews 1:1-3″]

Jesus had to first pay the penalty of sin, redeem the first man’s image and then make access to life available. God wants us to interact with His glory (2 Thessalonians 2:14), so this order had to be followed. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us for Jesus to receive us. Jesus Himself intercedes for us for God to receive us (so the veil will be open to us). His prayers are beyond the physical needs and wants we have. He has a better ministry that is placed on better promises. This is why He is called the Author and Finisher of our faith. The purpose of the book of Hebrews is for perfection.

[biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 12:25, 1:9, 13-14, 2:1-3″ display=”Hebrews 12:25, 1:9, 13-14, 2:1-3″]

Jesus is speaking and we must be careful never to refuse Him. Preachers should not just speak what they want. Even when you were not accurate, the Holy Spirit will help you. You need to be trained, but you must have a good heart. To become priests we must be led, trained and consecrated. For the real change that God desired, words that would shake the heavens and the earth were required. The ‘world to come’ is the truth we must handle. If we don’t, people will not ‘migrate’. God is using this season to raise those who will handle the ‘world to come’.

[biblegateway passage=”Revelation 15:1″ display=”Revelation 15:1″], [biblegateway passage=”Hebrews 6:1-2″ display=”Hebrews 6:1-2″], [biblegateway passage=”Romans 11:21″ display=”Romans 11:21″]

To go into the Holiest of all, we need the blood of sprinkling. It will consecrate your conscience. The word trains your head, Heaven trains your heart.
