Each of us got a deposit of the Spirit when we got baptized in the Holy Spirit. The power of the kingdom is not just meant to be mouthed in church; it is meant to be experienced. The theory behind the production of light can be boring especially to a man who is not interested in the theory of light but connecting cells and lighting up a bulb can be seen by everyone. The practical is always more exciting and well understood by all. Jesus clearly showed and lived in power.
Mark 4:26-28
Power was given for use not to be left dormant. Every gift of the spirit we received is in seed form. Salvation is a seed and so is every other thing in the kingdom. They need time to grow and manifest. Once we receive the seed of the gift of the Holy Spirit, we can begin to see its manifestations. The seed needs an environment where it can thrive.
1 Corinthians 12:9
You cannot manifest the gifts of the Spirit without being baptized in the Holy Spirit. You should also not put yourself under unnecessary pressure to manifest the gift of the Spirit like other people since each person has his own gifts. It is important to try to manifest the gift on little matters before attempting to do great things with the gifts. The basis for expressing the gift of the spirit is faith. You need to be deliberate about manifesting the power of the kingdom. Also, move in the company of people who already do what you desire to do. Some things will not break forth unless you move with people that have it.
Our spiritual discipline in the place of fasting, prayer and witnessing create a conducive environment for the seed of the gifts of the Spirit in us to grow properly.
