Text: Genesis 43:34

Fatherhood is not limited to biological parenting. There are people strategically placed in our lives to groom us to a place where we can come into our inheritance. The essence of this is to prepare us and train us into maturity so we will be able to handle the inheritance bestowed on us and not misuse it.
We have to go through times and seasons to mature us; age is not necessarily a maturity factor. Maturity is influenced by our level of exposure to trainings and experiences we have been subjected to. If we do not recognize these trainings, we will not be able to appreciate where God is taking us to. Maturity, most times, comes through sufferings which are part of God’s plan to prune and profit us. From Galatians 4:1, we see that certain things cannot be entrusted unto us until God has tested our level of maturity to handle them.
Owing to our faith in Christ, we have a lot of benefits. Having been reconciled unto God, we have become co-heirs with Jesus and so we have right to everything that belongs to God. Today’s concept of birthright will be taken from the angle of financial prosperity.
Philippians 4:19
The entire earth created by God is full of riches and He has bestowed prosperity and riches to all mankind. Therefore, it is our birthright to come into financial blessings which have been made available by God through atonement by Jesus Christ. It is the atonement that gave us access to true riches and we should all have unhindered access to it. It is pertinent to know what is required of us so as to experience these things because God has what we need when we do what is required of us. We must understand that the least of what God can bless us with is money. To access financial breakthrough, it is important to note the following key points.
Wisdom and Skill (Ecclesiastes 7:12)
Wisdom and money are tools for defense and prosperity. However, Sophia (wisdom with skill) is more important. Accumulation of money comes from skills that you have gathered and put to use; to make money requires skills. Since these skills are not always taught in school, we must begin to ask God to help us with the kind of wisdom (skill) we can use to access wealth. According to 1 Corinthians 1:30, we must know and understand that God is our wisdom. We should not only get wisdom but seek to get the person of wisdom (Jesus Christ) by getting Him involved in all we do.
Relationship with God (Genesis 43:34)
God cannot give you riches when you do not have a relationship with Him. It will be difficult to have His things when we are not close to Him. Many of us have a very sick relationship with God, yet we want to have the precious thing that belong to Him. Building quality relationships is very important if we must enjoy prosperity.
Desire for Money
Many Christians are of the opinion that being desirous of money is evil and have thus not being desiring it. Since it is difficult to realize what you are not looking for, we have to actively engage our minds in order to make money. It is important to desire money; we should not be deceived that the desire for money is evil. Granted, it is easy to be derailed by the pursuit of money but a healthy desire is never out of place.
It is imperative that we do not allow the devil to continually cheat us when it comes to what rightfully belongs to us. We have ceded the ground to him so much when it comes to finances and that has got to stop.
