EVANGELIST SOLA OKI
LUKE 10:38-40(KJV): ” 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.”
From our text, it is important to note that both Mary and Martha sat at Jesus’ feet. However, Martha was distracted, pulled away by the big dinner she was preparing. Martha felt the pressure of entertaining Jesus alone and she had to speak up in protest against Mary’s insensitivity to her plight. The harvest field is such a vast land and it can be frustrating to work it alone. We need the kindred spirit in order to harvest the nations. Every prophet hiding in the cave must come out of hiding if we must take the nations. There are ministers that have been abandoned. Some people have been left to do the work of ministry alone and they are sick and tired of the whole thing.
MATTHEW 9:35-38(KJV): ” 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Jesus went about into all the villages and cities. We must not be restricted to any location or group of people. We have to preach and teach and demonstrate the supernatural power of God in every nook and cranny of the earth. We need to see different dimensions of multitudes and be moved with compassion to reach out to them. We need sight to see the multitudes just the way God sees them. We have to see the big picture of the harvest. To be effective harvesters of the nations, we have to think globally while we act locally. The largeness of the harvest can be very intimidating. As such, we have the responsibility to pray the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into his harvest.
Many people in ministry were actually prayed into the ministry by the cries of people in bondage. We must be a mission-minded people who are willing to step out for God because the enormity of the harvest can be heart-breaking. Cries are always ascending from ministers in the field who need to be helped and sinners in the nations who need to be saved.
